Flashback Friday!New Zealand Fall

Happy Friday!It's officially fall! And it's finally coolin' off,  that's if you call the 70s cool. Well, I guess compared to the heat wave we've had this past month in Southern Cal. While we're surrounded by a variety of vegetation from succulents, eucalyptus  and palm trees,there's nothing like being surrounded by full trees dotted with a palette of oranges, yellows and reds to mark the change of season. Here are some beautiful images from our previous trip to Rotorua, New Zealand during their fall season. This unique city, a place to experience the Maori culture, is literally a hot spot featuring plenty of geysers, mud pools and thermal springs in the area. And the constant smell of sulfur will definitely remind you of its geo-thermal location. You can't see the steam at this park, but we were literally surrounded by mini geysers or little hot springs. While I wish I can sit in the therapeutic waters at this place, there's always Desert Hot Springs just a stone's throw away from us...another dip at our fave place Lido Palms.

Happy Friday!I can't believe it's already the end of the week and beginning of August. July just flew by! Well, I'm lovin' this flying image. There's just something enchanting and captivating about this artwork by Portland-based illustrator Carson Ellis. Flyin' Friday!

 Happy Friday!This week "flew" by again like always and looking forward to enjoying this weekend with family to celebrate Father's Day with my Dad.  Since my last name means "wings" (hence the name "Vuela"), I'm always drawn to flying images especially birds. It's also a symbolic about our parents' guidance and love in giving us "wings" to soar and fly in our journey of life.  So maybe this is the start of "Flyin' Fridays" where I get to share images in flight. Have a wonderful Father's Day weekend with your loved ones!

I love this gorgeous photo of these birds just hangin' on the branches, just as natural for them as being in flight (vuela!). It reminds me that as much as I love to be on the go and definitely with plenty of things to do, just tryin' to check off the list that needs to get done (especially with the holiday season)... it's definitely nice to just take a break, cherish the down time and just be. I know you may have to do lists this weekend, but have a restful weekend!

Since my last name means "wings" in Spanish, I love images with flying creatures such as these beautiful birds in flight photos by Andreas Lind. One of my favorite things to do at home is to take walks on the beach and I just love watching pelicans fly over us. If you've ever had the chance to be right under them, they actually have pretty wide wing spans. Well, like these birds in flight, I'm a curious explorer and wanderer. Wherever life's journey takes you, simply vuela or "fly", dream, be inspired, discover and enjoy the world around you.  Happy Friday!
