Victoria Bekerman

It was such a pleasure to catch up with Victoria Bekerman, one of the talented jewelry designers that we carry in our shop. She's sweet and lovely and it's always wonderful to talk to the designers in person. She was showcasing her classic pieces and some of her new jewelry creations this past weekend at the Los Angeles Renegade Crafts Fair. The pieces are all so sophisticated and modern but with a timeless quality.
Here are some of the beautiful pieces that we carry:

Message on a Friday: Life is Wonderful

While surrounded by iconic works of art and architecture in the "City of Light", this shot is still one of my fave photos I've taken in Paris. A glimpse of a wall in the Saint Germain district, I often wonder what the the artist was thinking in painting this playful wall art. Einstein celebrating his development of the theory of relativity...the Beatles at a Halloween Party....or Einstein at a Beatles concert...who knows? What is your interpretation?

What caught my eye the most about this image is the little reinforces that even through the ups and down in the journey of life, "life is wonderful!" Happy Friday!

Trois Petits Points Bracelets and Rings-RESTOCKED

Wedding Photography:Mr. & Mrs. Goetz

These amazing photos seem to be straight out of a magazine dream photo shoot. After coming across these images via Miss Moss, it reinforces how photographers are not only artists, but anthropologists in a way that they capture the human experience. From the environment and of course, the individuals and their interactions in a particular context and setting, photographers are able to tell their stories through images. Through the lens of the talented photographer Lydia Jane, she captures the natural and personal moments in one of the most special occasions of this couple's life.  Aaah, aren't they just all lovely?

Textiles: Suturno

These prints are beautiful textiles from Madrid based studio, Suturno. The textile studio is founded by Julia Vergara and Javier Gutierrez Bayo. Here are some exclusive prints they've designed for Hoss Intropia.

I also love their presentation on multiple ways to wear a head scarf.

Classic Chic-Wolcott:Takemoto

fall 2012 Collection

I know it's right in the middle of summer, but I can't help admiring these fall pieces by Wolcott:Takemoto. Based in New Work, it is a clothing line for women founded by Joy Wolcott and Natasha Takemoto in the early summer of 2011.  From the tailoring, materials and silhouettes, the collection just embodies the classic French chic spirit, while easily wearable and comfortable.

Now and Forever

by San Diego-based photographer Jeremy Young
With the wedding season in full swing and in celebration of all the weddings I'm attending this July (3 weekends in a row!), I wanted to share these beautiful images representing this special occasion. I always like a good love story and to witness or hear such a romantic love story is truly a gift. Although most movies represent a wedding as an end all of a such a story (boy meets girl, both fall in love, they get married), I feel that this special event represents a "comma" rather than a "period" in a couple's love story. It is a transition to the next phase of such a colorful story through the ups and down of the journey of life. A time when daily life takes hold of each couple, and the simple acts of love and small things (putting the dishes away, helping the kids get ready, just saying the three little words) are even more important than the grand gestures of love associated with dating.

Whether it's a local or a destination wedding, following all the logistics and planning of this special event, it is always exciting to see how the day unfolds and the unexpected or surprises that may come.  I've attended many weddings, but there's always a first for everything.. and going up a SKI LIFT all dressed up to attend the ceremony this past weekend following a thunderstorm is definitely a first.
