It's always exciting to discover new makers/designers especially in the area of textiles. I'm completely inspired by the label Emdal Colorknit, founded in 2007 by Danish textile artist/designer Signe Emdal. Described as a "nostalgic company" sticking to some early digital tools, she creates garments and scarves from beautiful knitted fabrics. These textiles are constructed locally using a slow production method in her large Copenhagen studio. This is where they keep a 1984 German industrial knitting machining alive. The slow production-method of their knitted textiles is a conscious choice and a tribute to a mindful and peaceful lifestyle they love by heart. Given a few amazing collaborations with brands like Henrik Vibskov, Dansk, Nikita and most recently the National Gallery of Denmark, her textile designs combine beautiful graphic prints and colorful patterns.  We're proud to showcase her stunning and versatile mixed scarves in our shop, including her limited edition flower scarves from her collaboration with National Gallery of Denmark -Staten Museum of Kunst's exhibition "Flowers and World Views”. Signe's commitment to every step of the process from design to production, translates to wearable textiles that combine soft texture with contemporary patterns. Why not wear a "wearable hug"?
