Textile Love: Reflejos de Mi Tierra

There's no doubt I love textile design. I'm usually drawn to colorful prints and patterns, but these designs featuring a comforting neutral palette, by Reflejos de mi Tierra discovered via Aubrey Road, are calling me.  Whether to feel the texture on my feet or wrap myself in their cozy blankets, they're great pieces to add to my collection of home essentials that will go a long way. Plus they're based and made in two of my fave places in the world...Italy and Argentina!

I can't believe it's already October but the heat in our Southern Cal beach town is not letting up. The coast is suppose to provide refuge from the heat, but it's only going to get hotter this week. Yikes!These beautiful images by Mikkel Vang via Agent Bauer makes me dream of a fall getaway. While I love being in nature, the thought of hiking up peaks and camping as I get older makes me seek other options (refer to my previous glamping post for more ideas). I admit I'm a city girl and not really in the best shape to handle those switchbacks, plus I don't do well in elevation. So a road trip to a beautiful lake surrounded by peaks while staying at a cabin seems more like my cup of tea. Okay there will be some hiking but definitely a lot of eating. I just gotta go catch me some fish and start baking those enticing sweets. Or hmm... who can I bring as my chef? And of course, we can end the day lounging on a boat...blissful!

Italian Love

So there has been a few fashion posts lately, but when combined with images that bring back nostalgia of  "la dolce vita", I just had to share it. There's no hiding it, Italy is one of my fave places in the world. The energy, people, architecture, food, vino, the unexpected.... it's just all part of the experience. So I was very excited to see the post at Miss Moss blog where Diana combined the gorgeous designs by Dolce & Gabbana with colorful vintage posters. It is brilliant and a feast for the eye!

San Diego Pop-up Shop

Here are some images from our pop-up shop at the Vixen Pop-up Boutique and Fashion show last Thursday. It was great to hang out and showcase some of our product specials: homewares from Vitrified Studio ceramics, Rina Ono, Studio Patro tea towels along with bags from Ellen Truijen, Nancybird, Erin Templeton and Manufacture des Rigoles. We also presented some of our beautiful jewelry including new arrivals from Victoria Bekerman with her lovely bracelets now available in our shop.
