Whether products, spaces and people, I love how Melbourne-based photographer Olga Bennett captures the simple details and real moments of each scene she photographs. Truly a visual artist and one of my favorites, she prefers to use film and manual cameras. With a spectrum of commissioned work from Wendy Voon, Yoko Ozawa, Frankie Magazine, Stampel, Harvest Textiles including wedding photography, there's a sweet calm, authenticity and raw essence in her photos. Simply beautiful and down to earth!

Whether photos of interiors, food, nature or people, I love the beautiful styling and images captured by Melbourne-based photographer Brook Holm. I want to jump right into the images and be part of that moment she took these photos like sitting in the chair surrounded by color, tasting that yummy fruit cake, and of course this last image...aaah pure bliss.

Fashion Love: Mizuiro-Ind

1.29.2013

Even though the colorful spring and resort collections are already coming out in full swing in many shops, I'm all about comfort and warmth this time of year. I adore the whole fall/winter collection from Japanese clothing line Mizuiro-Ind photographed by Anne-Claire Rohe. The line is designed by Minako Kawahara and produced by Mothers Industry Co. Ltd. in Osaka, Japan. Love the classic down to earth tailoring and fabrics...especially their sweaters and that blue coat. Aah, my dream toggle coat!

Just wanted to dedicate this post to one of my favorite cities in the world, New York. Having lived there for a couple of years, this beloved town has a special place in my heart. After what happened to the city and other places on the east coast, here's to the strength and resilience of the people in the aftermath of the storm. These are some lovely images of the beauty and spirit of the city as captured by two of my favorite NY-based photographers, Nicole Franzen via her blog La Buena Vida and Alice Gao.

Happy Friday!

Since my last name means "wings" in Spanish, I love images with flying creatures such as these beautiful birds in flight photos by Andreas Lind. One of my favorite things to do at home is to take walks on the beach and I just love watching pelicans fly over us. If you've ever had the chance to be right under them, they actually have pretty wide wing spans. Well, like these birds in flight, I'm a curious explorer and wanderer. Wherever life's journey takes you, simply vuela or "fly", dream, be inspired, discover and enjoy the world around you.  Happy Friday! Look around and enjoy those birds flying over you this weekend!Just watch out for the you know what from them...but I've heard in some places it's suppose to be good luck. ;)

Fall Getaway Idea:Photos by Mikkel Vang

I can't believe it's already October but the heat in our Southern Cal beach town is not letting up. The coast is suppose to provide refuge from the heat, but it's only going to get hotter this week. Yikes! These beautiful images by Mikkel Vang via Agent Bauer makes me dream of a fall getaway. While I love being in nature, the thought of hiking up peaks and camping as I get older makes me seek other options (refer to my previous glamping post for more ideas). I admit I'm a city girl and not really in the best shape to handle those switchbacks, plus I don't do well in elevation. So a road trip to a beautiful lake surrounded by peaks while staying at a cabin seems more like my cup of tea. Okay there will be some hiking but definitely a lot of eating. I just gotta go catch me some fish and start baking those enticing sweets. Or hmm... who can I bring as my chef? And of course, we can end the day lounging on a boat...blissful!
