Hello 2014!Happy New Year!

Like always, I can't believe it's the new year and 2013 went by in a flash especially with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.  And since it's the beginning of the new year, it's time for resolutions, to do lists, goals etc. for the upcoming year. But instead of long resolutions that's hard to stick to by the end of the first quarter, I love this list of values as it's more of a manifesto, reminder or call to action. It's a simple list of values,  yet we may have to remind ourselves often as we're confronted with the ups and downs of life. What I've learned from last year is that it's not just the the grand gestures of love that are always important, but the simple acts of love that really matters like simply hanging out over a good meal with your loved one or a phone call (yes a conversation over the phone versus text). And as simple arithmetic reminds us, the little things add up to big things.

And as time moves at a fast pace as we get older, it's like driving a long commute.... somehow our mind wanders and we're not even aware of our surroundings and how we got from point A to point B. So we hope to be more mindful of our environment and really experience the moment... the smell, the colors and feel of the surroundings...a true sensory experience and connect with the moment. So here's to the simple acts of love and really living in the moment for this year and always. Happy New Year!

Our Christmas tree has typically been our potted pine tree.Whether small cuttings, a whole branch, or in a nice pot,  I love how it's showcased in many ways in the home for the holidays. What's great about a potted tree is that after all the festivities for the season, you get to enjoy it in your home for all seasons.

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas! Peace, love and all the blessings to all of you. Happy Holidays!

Happy Friday!Given the holiday rush of shopping, what I love about this season are of course the gatherings (along with the yummy sweets), whether they're big parties or the small intimate get together with family and friends. Well if you're off to a grand soiree, I'm loving these black and white outfits (my favorite color combo this season!) as worn by Sarah Yates. And lovin' how she topped of both outfits with the right clutch and of course, the arm candy with our stunning and sleek Kristen Elspeth cuff. And what about those shoes?

Fashion Love: Sloe

12.09.2013

I've been eying the modern well-crafted designs by Berlin-based label Sloe for awhile now. Launched in 2012 by designer Antonia Sigmund and art director Matthias Last, Sloe is a collection of effortless clothing, accessories and bags that feature modern simplicity and clean silhouettes to emphasize the quality materials used in their creations. Drawn to dark colors and simple tailoring, I want to reach for their coats and that timeless hybrid cardigan since it has been cold here in Southern Cal. Although I shouldn't complain since it's still not as extreme compared to the rest of the country. And did I mention their versatile bags? Featuring gorgeous leather and multiple wearing options, it is really made for the city nomad on the go...like me.

"SLOE´s philosophy: top quality materials, handmade products and timeless, simple design. Thanks to the long-term availability of its products, the label is beyond the transience of fashion. SLOE combines elegance with casualness, extravagance with naturalness. SLOE is cool but not eccentric, striking without being intrusive."
