There's no doubt I love pottery and enjoy discovering new ceramics. There are so many talented ceramic artists and I just want to collect all the wonderful designs out there. So I was thrilled when ceramic artist Forrest Lewinger introduced me to his line of functional ceramics, Workaday Handmade. Maybe it's the constant color of the skies and access to the ocean here at home, but blue has always been my favorite color. Featuring my favorite blue in all it's glory... whether marbled, dotted or as a geometric pattern, I couldn't resist adding his ceramics to our shop. And he hand paints all the dots and patterns that are showcased on his creations. The versatile shapes and glazes (love the egg bowl matte glaze) makes you want to touch them. Plus the pattern of the bowl is somewhat mesmerizing. I keep admiring my small fruit bowl as it adorns the table-top. Just pretty!

Objects: Design by Michael Verheyden

When it comes to functional objects, there are endless possibilities when it comes to designing a vessel to hold food, trinkets, jewelry, office supplies or whatever else you want to throw in it. That said...I love the design approach of Belgium-based fashion and home accessories designer Michael Verheyden. Combining innovation and crafstmanship, his objects are beautiful in its purity and simplicity in design. Although he uses simple shapes, he explores and incorporates a variety of materials such as metal, wood, leather and marble onto one vessel adding some textures onto his creations. Check out that marble and leather lid combination, simply stunning!

We're expanding our housewares featuring pieces with a Scandinavian influence. I get so giddy when I discover amazing designs that I have to add them to our shop. We're thrilled to showcase the clean lines and minimalist design by Magnus Lundstrom like the spice mill and mortar & pestle. I'm also happy to introduce LA-based line BZippy & Co by Bari Zipperstein, who created these handmade patterned ceramic coasters. All these new pieces are beautiful in their simplicity yet designed to keep up with the busy kitchen. But they're just as lovely accenting your table-top or counter!

Through Landscape-Ceramics by Young-Mi Kim

Besides textiles, the other medium that makes me completely giddy and excited is ceramics-especially when I come across such beautiful design in its simplicity. I'm drawn to the pieces created by Korean ceramicist and designer, Young-Mi Kim, for the clean lines and color palette. This is one medium in which one is truly inspired and in awe of not only of the end product, but the process itself in combining the science of firing and art of design.
