Art by Silke Bonde

It's been a while since we featured art. But when I came across the work of Copenhagen-based designer and artist Silke Bonde, I couldn't resist sharing these beautiful prints of her work in watercolor.  Her art focuses on themes of nature and simplicity and features a monochromatic palette of blue/green tones, as well as organic forms in this medium. Plus her work is showcased through the lovely photography and styling by Studio Oink. I want every single piece in her collection but my favorite is the world map print for the wanderlust in me and is currently on my coveted art board.

I came across Canadian artist Jessica Bell's work via Pinterest and was instantly drawn to her use of colors and  geometric forms. She integrates different media from textiles, paint to paper to create a diverse body of work. The textures and materials used bring both a visual and tactile experience. My favorites though are her collage-like pastel creations.

Beyond the winter grey, these colorful prints by UK-based print and textile designer Suzanne Antonelli may just brighten your day. I'm loving the combination of geometric patterns and pretty colors with some of her prints aptly named "Happiness".

Art by Emily Feretti

I'm drawn to the works of Melbourne-based artist Emily Ferretti not just for the pattern and nature themes, but for the dominant color she uses in her oil paintings-blue! You can view more of her amazing work here at Sophie Gannon Gallery and would love one of her painting especially that last one called Skyeline. Maybe because it's the color that's present all around us in nature whether you look up or down.  And whatever shade or tone it may be, blue has been a favorite color of mine. Especially living in Southern Cal, I'm being more mindful of the different shades of blue present in the skies and ocean.

Ethereal, feminine and visually stunning describe the work by the talented Melbourne based illustrator/artist Emma Leonard. Combining traditional media such as watercolor, pencil and ink along with digital techniques, she produces art with a primary focus on females and emotional themes. Through the facial expressions and eyes of her images, one is drawn to the mystery or emotional state of her subjects. She has produced art works for clients, but some of my favorites are her personal work. Her beautiful illustrations are available here. Enjoy her lovely work!
